Loving Light Yoga
Kris is a Certified Amrit Yoga Instructor. She has been helping Lata and Robert as a model to demonstrate the yoga poses with the beach yoga classes since 2013, after moving to Englewood from California in 2011. In her desire to bring joy and yoga to the Englewood community, she has participated in all the flash mobs, Earth Day events, and promotional celebrations that Loving Light Yoga has sponsored. She is currently teaching a senior Chair Yoga student and subs for Lata & Robert at the beach when needed.
In 2015 Kris completed her 200-hour yoga immersion and teacher training. She feels extremely fortunate to have been taught by Amrit Desai and his daughter Kamini in Salt Springs, Florida, at the AmritYoga Institute ashram. She also is immensely grateful to Lata for guiding her in this new journey as a yoga teacher. Her style is a combination of Lata, Robert, Amrit and herself! She is interested in and practices healthy and natural eating and living, exploring alternative healing concepts, including apitherapy, and merging the spiritual with her yoga practice.
Her personal story is that she was born and raised in Sacramento, California, where she had a 33-year career as a court reporter. With her husband and twin daughters, she decided to move away from the stressful environment she was working and living in and move to Englewood to enjoy a more peaceful, relaxed lifestyle. Having exercised all her adult life -- jogging, aerobics, pilates, weight training, Tae Bo, along with some gym yoga -- she discovered before moving that beach yoga was offered within walking distance of where she would be living. After experiencing Loving Light Yoga beach yoga, she knew she had found her passion and her home!
Lata is a Certified Yoga Instructor and Yoga Therapist with many years of experience and an always evolving foundation of training. She first studied Hatha (Sampoorna) Yoga with Sri Yogi Hari of the Sivananda Lineage and since then has studied various styles of Yoga including Kripalu, Intregrated Yoga Therapy, Amrit Yoga Therapy, Yoga Fit , Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra; drawing on the teachings of the multitude of yoga masters to create her own unique blend.
As a compliment to this, Lata has received training as an Advanced Teacher of Therapeutic Yoga from Joseph Le Page at the Kripalu Center and most received her Certification as a Yoga Therapist with Kamini Desai at the Amrit Yoga Institute in Salt Springs Florida in 2013 which has added a more therapeutic and restorative approach to many of her classes and allowing her to offer restorative/therapeutic group classes and private sessions. She has also furthered her studies in Yoga Nidra and Yoga for the 5 Elements & Chakras. Lata believes yoga is incredibly beneficial for anyone at any age and it is her mission to help people achieve balance and harmony both inside and out! Lata has been teaching yoga for over 20 years and teaches from the beginner to the advance.

There is a sense of love, friendship and community at the Loving Light Studio, Englewood Beach, Yoga Flash Mobs , SUP Yoga (Paddleboard Yoga) and Englewood Drum Circle which Lata founded in 2012.
Lata has a wealth of knowledge dedicated to Holistic Healing. After a car accident left her with many serious injuries, she studied various healing modalities and went on to earn certification not only for teaching yoga, but in Reflexology, and Raindrop Technique. Lata's personal experience with digestive disorder, depression, etc. led her to her studies in Holistic Nutrition at the Natural Healing Institute of California and a 3-year intensive study under Master Teacher Anthony William, learning how to use Natural Hygiene, whole foods, fasting, and detoxification to heal the body from within, allowing the body to return to its' natural state of radiant health. Lata's finely tuned intuition and sense of energy allows her to read the energy of the class or an individual that allows her to offer just what is needed at that time

Pat found yoga after a 30 year IBM technical career during which she regularly squeezed in exercise sessions ranging from aerobics, weight training, biking, jogging and skiing in order to counter balance the effects of computer work and driving her four sons to their many activities. After just two yoga classes she was hooked and eagerly enrolled in Yoga Yoga, Austin, TX Hatha Yoga teacher training. Since 2011, Pat has been honing her second career passion, teaching yoga in Austin, TX; Colchester, VT; and Englewood, FL. Students especially appreciate her guided instructions and body scan type reminders during flow and restorative yoga practices. Pat's group classes encourage individual exploration of simple, healthy spinal movements for all!
Pat's Wednesday evening class, a well balanced practice appropriate for all fitness levels, will combine flow and restorative asanas some of which will be held for multiple breaths building strength and stability. Pat's guided yoga approach includes instructions and adaptations to safely modify movements. Movement with breath, spinal extension / alignment and balance are explored via various simple postures. The session will end with several relaxation poses.
